FAQs

Do you take health insurance?

No, I don’t accept because insurances tend to exert control over healthcare practitioners, reimbursing for only a fraction of the time spent with clients while increasing documentation requirements. I believe in providing exemplary care to my clients, so I want to be able to get to know them and their health concerns thoroughly and decide on treatment approaches without third party interference.

Where are you located?

I live near Edmonds, Washington just outside Seattle. I see clients in my Edmonds office, or remotely via phone or secure video chat. If you are outside the Edmonds area, please rest assured that this process is just as effective done remotely, and that I form a deep connection with my clients over phone or video conferencing. You can specify whether you want to see me in-person or remotely when you book a session using my online form.

Are you certified in FODMAPs?

I am a Monash FODMAP trained dietitian, and I am also a registered dietitian, a national certification which requires a minimum of a bachelors degree and at least 1200 hours of supervised clinical experience. I have supplemental training in FODMAPs from a variety of sources, and I stay abreast of FODMAP research and the latest findings in this emerging field. I am currently pursuing additional training in integrative and functional medicine. Please see my experience and credentials at the bottom of the "Meet Kate" page for more information.
